This pedagogically designed sheet music collection is written for flute and piano, or alternatively recorder and piano, and is ideal for early ensemble playing and first performances.
The four fairy-tale-inspired movements create an atmospheric musical world and allow students to experience meaningful duo playing from the very beginning – with an emphasis on musical expression rather than technical difficulty.
The flute part remains mostly within one octave; only in the final movement does the concert flute reach the overblown high D.
The recorder part requires no overblowing and no thumb hole technique, making it especially suitable for early learning stages.
Articulation, dynamics, note values, and guided breathing are clearly notated to support intuitive musical development.
The piano accompaniment is also beginner-friendly: it rarely exceeds a fifth, is comfortable for small hands, and includes helpful fingerings.
